U.S. Bank prints a reference number between the description and the amount. It is a real column, not part of the description, and keeping it separate is what lets you match a transaction back to the bank's records later.
What to check afterwards
The reference number is a genuine column, not part of the description. If it ends up merged into the description text, the gap between them was too narrow to detect — widen your check by looking at a row with a short description.
